WHAT IS CULTURE?
Your organization’s culture represent the collective character, values, thoughts, emotions, beliefs and behaviours of your employees. It is reflected in the creation and implementation of your organization's purpose, vision, mission, values, strategy, structure and roles.
Your company will have a culture. The question is whether you want to leave your company's culture development to chance or consciously go about constructing a culture in which your employees and business are at their best.
WHY IS CULTURE IMPORTANT?
There isn’t an organization that exists in the world today that doesn’t desire to get better. Your organization’s current and future operating success is tied to the “health and vibrancy” of your culture.
Your culture will determine if you succeed or fail.
I have discovered that most business leaders focus their time and energy on creating and producing products and services and acquiring clients who need their products and services. While no one will argue with the importance of these operating pursuits, I have learned that the most successful business leaders will place even greater value and focus on creating and sustaining the right leadership and operating culture. The most successful organizations recognize that leadership, talent and culture are the leading indicators to operating success.
The need to transform never ends as all businesses are facing growing disruption from all angles. Many business transformations fail, because they were not as diligent as they needed to be in creating and transforming the culture in support of operating goals. This is due to lack of intelligent leadership and that is where the transformation of the culture should start.
A strong company culture attracts better talent and, more importantly, retains that talent. When people feel like they belong to an organization, they’re more likely to stick around for the long term. That means lower turnover and better chemistry among your team.
Only when we take our values off the wall and actually live them can we say we have a strong corporate culture.
The key to a strong workplace culture is a shared sense of purpose.
HOW MANY PEOPLE INSIDE YOUR COMPANY CAN ARTICULATE WHY YOUR COMPANY EXISTS BEYOND JUST MAKING MONEY?
When they are clear about WHY they are there, WHERE they are going, WHO they serve and HOW they are getting there, they will start to feel valued and fulfilled.
HOW AGT COACHING CAN HELP YOU?
Here are four ways you can access our knowledge and experience to help you and your organization with your cultural transformation initiative.
The assessment journey starts with in-depth diagnostic interviews with key stakeholders, leadership, and randomly selected employees.
We measure the culture of your organization using four tools:
Engagement survey - To understand how engage your employees are.
Culture survey - To review the unique beliefs, behaviours, and practices of your company against how they are perceived by your employees.
Climate survey - To identify what makes that team tick.
Pulse checks - Which provide a snapshot in time, on the engagement within an organization.
This will help you pinpoint the “health and vibrancy” of your organization’s current culture, as well as determine your organization’s overall “readiness” to transform its’ culture in support of your operating goals.
Concluding the assessment stage you will find a detailed report with suggestions on where to start and what to do next in your transformation journey. We offer 2-hour virtual or in person debriefs as well as half- or full-day sessions.
LEADERSHIP TEAM 2 DAY CULTURE TRANSFORMATION RETREAT
The retreat is a personalized development experience for both the individual leader and the team, that drives operating success through leadership and cultural transformation.
We explore the inner- and the outer-core of each leader, building a full individual leadership development plan and roadmap for leveraging his/her leadership gifts and addressing the gaps.
With the underlying purpose question of how we can influence our organization's culture, we then explore and discover what we need to do as a leadership team to transform and reinvent the cultural of our organization which support the operating goals.
The retreat is a intimate peer-to-peer and action-learning event and includes a 2 day workshop, pre-programme assessments, coaching sessions, tools and resources, all programme material, and post-retreat interviews and surveys to measure ROI.
An informal interview takes place as part of the job application process wherein your organization is actively looking to hire someone. A lot of modern companies with entrepreneurial management teams are quite laid back in the way they do things, and interviewing new recruits is likely to be no different. Generally, applicants are more relaxed, so I am able to see more of the candidate's character, values and beliefs.
Although an informal interview is not structured like a traditional job interview, I help assess whether the candidate would be a good fit in the company from an objective point of view, keeping your culture strong, healthy and vibrant.
